The Design of a Wideband Antenna with Notching Characteristics for Small Devices Using a Genetic Algorithm

This paper presents the design and realization of a compact printed ultra-wideband (UWB) antenna with notching characteristics for devices using genetic algorithm. The is capable mitigating an adjacent sub-band ranging from 3.75 to 4.875 GHz, mainly used by many applications standards such as WiMAX, WLAN sub-6-GHz. notch band functionality achieved etching out two symmetrical slots pentagonal radiating element. simulation measured results demonstrate that proposed overperformed compared state-of-the-art antennas in terms compactness overall size 20 mm×15 mm×0.508 mm. Moreover, shows large bandwidth UWB region fractional 180% respect center frequency 5.25 GHz. also omnidirectional radiations all over operation good return loss performance.
